NAME: Sora

TIMELINE PERIOD: Post- KH2
ABILITIES: Sora’s biggest strength is the fact that is the wielder of a weapon called the Keyblade; basically, a giant key that’s used for defeating Heartless. (Coincidentally, or possibly conveniently, it’s also useful for hitting/breaking things.) He can summon this blade to him when he needs it and let it disappear when he doesn’t. The Keyblade also grants him a limited amount of magic, such as fire, ice, electricity, time, gravity, magnet, and cure. It’s also been shown in game that he’s also capable of jumping very high and gliding for a while, and he’s been known to be very fast.
CHARACTER BACKGROUND: Sora’s real history starts when he was 14- on his home of Destiny Islands, with best friends Riku and Kairi. They were building a raft, with the prospect to see other worlds.

That night, as Sora lay in bed and looked towards the island where he played, he noticed a storm brewing and the seas getting rough. Thinking the raft would fall apart, he quickly made his way to the island just in time to see shadow creatures running over the island, Kairi kidnapped, Riku leave into a pool of darkness, and for the islands to disappear.

The next thing he knew, a dog was licking his face at the end of a cobblestone alley, and a giant key was in his hand.

From that point on, he went through the worlds with his friends, Donald and Goofy, sent by a mouse king to follow the Keyblade wielder. They were looking for their King; he, for Riku and Kairi. He finally met back up with Riku in Hollow Bastion, but he had been possessed by a Heartless known as Ansem. At one point, he convinced Sora, in Riku’s form, to unlock his heart with a special Keyblade to release Kairi’s. Sora complied, but Kairi brought him back from the darkness once she was herself again. After a long battle with Ansem, he was defeated, and Riku was sealed behind the Door to Darkness. Having Kairi return to the island, Sora continued on his journey, this time to find a way to bring his best friend back.

On his way, he ended up stumbling into a place called Castle Oblivion, where he got his memories tied together by a witch named Namine. She volunteered to let him sleep for a while in a pod while she rearranged his memories- she complied, and Sora went out.

Once he was reunited with Roxas, his Nobody created when he’d unlocked his heart, he realized he had no memory of how he’d gotten there and his clothes were two sizes too small. Getting new garments, he once more began his adventure to find Riku.

Soon, after running through a new and improved Hollow Bastion, he discovered the Organization, Nobodies, and was reintroduced to the Heartless- the same as usual. Battling through the worlds, he finally made it to The World That Never Was, the Organization’s stronghold. It was there he was reunited with Riku and a previously kidnapped Kairi, heading towards the main leader, Xemnas. Only he and Riku managed to get to the final battle, and they were left to fend on their own.

During the course of the battle with Xemnas, Sora thankfully didn’t get hit too many times. However, this was often at Riku’s expense- he’d even had to help his friend away from the battle scene after Xemnas was defeated. It was there that they discovered the Door To Light, reuniting with Kairi back on the islands, almost two years after their fancied dreams of floating away on the raft.
CHARACTER PERSONALITY: Sora, first and foremost, is a bright, optimistic, and loyal teen. He’s considered wise beyond his years, due to the fact that he saved the world on more than one occasion and he still isn’t even old enough to vote. He has a strong sense of morals, and is not one to back down from a challenge. And, as all Squeenix heroes, has hair that refuses to do anything but spike in about 20 different directions. (Somehow, I don’t think that’s a personality aspect, but it makes him cute?)

One of the best parts about Sora’s personality is that, even in the face of danger, he still manages to be cheerful and keep whatever wits he has about him. He’s not one to freak out at a situation, and relies on his friends for a lot of his support and confidence. He will do anything to save them, even if it means putting his own self on the line, including turning into the best hero ever to save them.

While he’s considered to be knowledgeable beyond his years, Sora’s inner self is still very much a child. He’s prone to face-smooshing and big smiles even at small things, including being cheerful at wanting to see Santa. This comes out the most around his friends. However, this does not mean Sora is stupid by any means- he can be very serious and smart, and knows when it is time to wise up and treat things with the seriousness they demand.
WORLD: Sora is technically from several worlds. His ‘home world’, Destiny Islands, is a tropical paradise sort of place, with the main kids (Sora, Riku, Kairi) having their supposed own island that they would play at. During the course of the Kingdom Hearts games, however, Sora travels to many worlds from various Disney movies, such as Hercules, Tarzan, Alice in Wonderland, The Little Mermaid, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Aladdin, Mulan, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Timeless River (representing the old black-and-white cartoons of Disney), Winnie The Pooh, Beauty and The Beast, The Lion King, Tron, and Pirates of the Caribbean. There were also a few worlds created for the game, such as Traverse Town (a small interconnected hub for travelers who have lost their worlds to gather), Hollow Bastion (the home world of most final fantasy characters, along with Malefecent’s first hideout), Castle Oblivion (the setting of Chain of Memories, ruled by the Organization), The World That Never Was (The Organization’s base), End Of The World (the remnants of lost worlds where the final battle of KH1 takes place), and Disney Castle (where King Mickey and Queen Minnie reside). Because Sora has visited all of these worlds, he’s obviously used to travel and adventure, and this scenery will hardly be uncommon for him.
OCCUPATION: HE’S THE FREAKIN’ HERO. No, seriously. It’s his only job in life.

Sora let a grin spread over his face as he walked beside the oxen, Keyblade over his back. This whole thing was… going well, to say the least. No one had died (yet), they still had all their animals, and heck, this was like another adventure! Best of all, Roxas was still alive… even if it escaped him entirely where they were headed. Grinning behind him to Roxas, who was trailing a bit, he was met with a raise of the eyebrow instead of the grin the brunette was hoping.

“C’mon Roxas, cheer up! This is just like another world to explore- it’s exciting!”

When he was answered with only an eyeroll, Sora sighed a bit and turned around. “Roxas, you just don’t understand the concept of- -”

Unfortunately, he was cut off; in turning around, Sora had managed to whack one of the oxen in the rump, and well, off it ran. Sora let out a small yell, picking up his step and running after.

“I’LL GET IT, I PROMISE!”

Okay, before anything else--Roxas, I promise I’m not going to do anything with the oxen anymore! It was an accident, I swear.
